Part 1 of the 'Childhood's End' special
Hi, welcome back to Kscope the Post-progressive Podcast. Episode 27.
Early pioneers of Norwegian black metal, Ulver have continually evolved throughout their career, they're living legends of the dark music industry, blending rock, electronica, symphonic and chamber traditions. They’ve always done exactly what they want to do.
Last year Kscope released the beautiful Wars Of The Roses album, now, Childhood's End, a collection of classic psychedelic and garage rock covers; unique versions of tunes by the likes The 13th Floor Elevators, Jefferson Airplane, The Pretty Things and many obscure ones too.
In a rare interview Kriss discusses the reasons for doing the album, why they feel they're "ambassadors" for these kinds of psyche records, the band’s adventures on tour. He now sees Ulver "on the periphery of metal”…

Episode 21 - Live at the Union Chapel
Thursday Nov 24, 2011
Thursday Nov 24, 2011
A very warm welcome to this ‘double album’ length Kscope, The Post-Progressive Podcast. Billy Reeves here.
Recently, Kscope hosted a very special concert at The Union Chapel in north London; arguably London’s nicest venue. It’s a working church, built in the Victorian gothic revival style in the 1870s, it’s also a centre for the arts. It’s unspoiled inside, the audience sit in pews, it’s gorgeous.
We invited four of the Kscope family to perform unique versions of some of their repertoire: you’ll hear tunes from NOSOUND, ENGINEERS, BRUCE SOORD from THE PINEAPPLE THIEF (with Alx Leeks) and ANATHEMA.
PLUS pre-show, backstage and aftershow interviews with all the atristes as we were (very kindly) allowed to go running around with a microphone.
What a night! A packed house from all over the world (you’ll hear from some of the audience too). If you were there, re-live it here. If you weren’t let’s take you there…

Episode Twenty – Steven Wilson talks Grace For Drowning
Good morning, afternoon and evening.
Welcome to Kscope, the Post-Progressive Podcast.
Steven Wilson (Porcupine Tree) has recorded what he feels is his “..Biggest project to date”; the sumptuous double album Grace For Drowning, a journey through many musical influences and styles - filtered through the Wilson audio-scope.
The album is out now. Here, in an exclusive interview with Billy Reeves, Steven describes the joy and creative spark he felt when working on the King Crimson re-issues, how the project began and ended, who one can bounce off if one is making a solo record, and answers two age-old musical conundrums: (i) what is the difference between an autoharp and a hammered dulcimer..? & (ii) were the 60s/70s prog rockers simply jazz musicians who wanted to get laid…?!?
