Kscope Podcast Ninety-Two – Anathema's Daniel Cavanagh Solo Album

Monochrome is the beautiful solo album from Daniel Cavanagh, a songwriter and frontman in the multi award-winning avant-garde band Anathema. We hear from Daniel during Anathema’s world tour, talking about the advantages and disadvantages of making an LP outside the warm comforts of the traditional group dynamic.

Plus breathtaking music from Nordic Giants – who have made a film about the simple things we can all do to save humanity and (in the spirit of the project) provided themselves with their own soundtrack PLUS a return (of sorts) of chart-topping Liverpudlians Mansun.

Kscope Podcast Ninety One – Lunatic Soul and The Pineapple Thief Special

Featuring alluring interviews with Mariusz Duda, Bruce Soord and Darran Charles.

Lunatic Soul is the solo project of Mariusz Duda, the creative force behind one of Europe’s biggest rock bands: Riverside. Fractured is the fifth Lunatic Soul album; a personal catharsis following the death of his father and of band member Piotr Grudzinski, working through moving on and offering guidance to others in the same situation. Mariusz states that it's the first LS album that can be listened to "in the day as well as the night".

The Pineapple Thief have released their new concert film Where We Stood, recorded at their sold-out London show on the Your Wilderness tour and boasting performances from Gavin Harrison (King Crimson / Porcupine Tree) on drums and Darran Charles (Godsticks) on guitar. The Welsh hardened industrial rockers recently signed to Kscope for their new album Faced With Rage – and our presenter caught both Darran and Bruce Soord whilst on tour together for a chat about both albums.

Plus a track from one of Britain’s most significant songwriters Daniel Cavanagh of Anathema from his transcendental new solo album Monochrome.

Happy 2017!

Kscope Podcast 82 is one for fans of Japan, abstract beauty, Porcupine Tree and seven-inch singles.

Mick Karn’s latter years were very fertile, and Kscope continues its re-release of Japan’s late bassist's 21st century masterpieces: we’ll hear 4 tracks from 4 albums, and memories from his bandmate and school chum Richard Barbieri. This gives Billy Reeves an excuse to play a track from the Barbieri/Jansen live concert album (featuring Steven Wilson on guitar) and a chance to chat with Mr Barbieri about his new record, Planets + Persona

PLUS, from the new Porcupine Tree box set, a rare-as-hen’s-teeth cassette demo from way back and, as The Pineapple Thief are on tour (with Porcupine Tree’s drummer Gavin Harrison) we’ll finish with an exclusive play of TPT’s new 7” - a duet with The Anchoress
